Hardwood
White oak, walnut, hickory and maple from Fabrica, Mannington and Bruce, engineered or solid.
Hardwood is the longest conversation we have, because it is the longest-lived choice in the house. Solid or engineered, plank width, sheen, and whether the finish should hide life or record it.
If you already have hardwood, ask about sanding and refinishing before you replace anything. It is frequently the better answer.
