Luxury vinyl has stopped being a compromise. The good ranges are waterproof, warm underfoot and convincing at close range, which makes them the right answer for kitchens, baths, basements and houses with animals.
Laminate sits alongside it: harder wearing than its reputation, and gentler on the budget.
